This Nord-Lock washer can be used in both Metric and Inch/Imperial applications for screw/bolt sizes M39 or 1-1/2 respectively. The wedge-locking washer hardness must be greater than the hardness of the mating surfaces in order to assure its mechanical function.
This Nord Lock washer is ideal for all general stainless-steel applications and performs exceptionally well in saltwater environments. The washer is surface-hardened to ensure it surpasses the hardness of both the bolt and contact surface, guaranteeing reliable performance. It is also compatible with all standard bolt grades, including A2-50, A2-70, A2-80, A4-50, A4-70, and A4-80. Additionally, the 254 SMO® material offers outstanding corrosion resistance, making it suitable for demanding environment.
254 SMO® is an austenitic stainless steel designed for maximum resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. With high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen, washers made from 254 SMO® are especially suited for:
- High chloride environments
- Salt water solutions/atmospheres
- Environments where stainless steel washers made of 1.4404 are not adequate
Note: Washers with an enlarged outer diameter (SP) have the same inner diameter as the standard washers, and are designed to be used together with flanged bolts and nuts (ISO 4161,4162) on oversized and slotted holes, or on sensitive surfaces and soft materials.
