Nord Lock washers are specialized fasteners designed to preserve the integrity of bolted joints under demanding conditions, such as high vibration and dynamic loading. They employ advanced wedge-locking technology to secure joints by generating tension forces rather than relying on friction. This design makes them suitable for use in heavy machinery, transportation industries, and other critical applications, ensuring precise and reliable performance. It is important to note that the hardness of the washers must surpass that of the mating surfaces to ensure proper mechanical functionality.

• The Nord Lock carbon steel wedge lock washer has a zinc flake coating and is through hardened to ensure it is harder than the bolt and contact surface. It is treated with Delta Protekt®, a surface coating that provides excellent corrosion protection. These washers work with all common bolt grades such as 4.8, 5.6, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9.
• The Nord-Lock SC-washer (steel consturction) is made from 316 stainless steel and is specifically designed for use in structural steel applications, ensuring optimal load distribution and reliable locking, even for joints with short clamp lengths. To ensure an optimal contact surface between the bolt (grades up to A4-80) and the washer, each SC-washer pair features chamfers on the inner diameter. The chamfers are present on both sides of each pair, eliminating the risk of incorrect installation.
• The Nord Lock 254 SMO® Stainless Steel wedge-locking washer is suitable for all your general stainless-steel applications and works very well in saltwater environments. This washer is surface hardened to ensure it is harder than the bolt and contact surface. These Nord-Lock washers work with all common bolt grades such as; A2-50, A2-70, A2-80, A4-50, A4-70, A4-80. The material 254 SMO® provides excellent corrosion resistance.

Washers' stock sizes include: 3.4 mm through 83.1 mm (inner diameters) and 7 mm through 115 mm (outer diameters) for bolt sizes #5 through 1-1/2 (Inch/Imperial applications) and M3 through M39 (Metric applications) in carbon steel with a zinc flake coating and delta protekt® finish, 316 stainless steel, and 254 smo® stainless steel.
